Wines receive their color from the juice contact with the skin of the grapes. As the skins and the juice soak together the color from the skin bleeds into the juice, giving the wine its color. Our Frichette rosé was created by allowing the juice to soak with the skins for several hours allowing the juice to take on the beautiful dark pink color. Sashay rosé was pressed off right away allowing for a faintness in pink color, but still full of flavor.
If you are thinking pink is for girls, then you are so 1980’s. Rosé is such a versatile wine. From light to dark, sweet to dry, this wine is a rock star when it comes to the many ways you can enjoy it. Plus, it pairs with a plethora of foods. I recently enjoyed Frichette Red Mountain AVA Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon with pulled chicken tacos, brats and a falafel made by Ethos Trattoria.
Rosé is fancy enough to enjoy in a sophisticated wine glass and casual enough to be accepted in a jar, water glass or red solo cup (Oh yes I did). No fussing about the right way to enjoy this wine. Any way is the right way. Still confused? Below are some suggestions.
If you are new to rosé and you don’t know what you might enjoy, get to a tasting room or wine store pronto! Share with the wine steward your likes and have them make a recommendation.

Point is, a wine that plays in the grey…er pink area gives us the opportunity to do so as well. So, raise your glass, cup or jar of rosé, smile and go conquer the world! You are officially ready for rosé season. You’re welcome.
